Who is Required To Connect?
- All new construction
- At time of sale or substantial improvement Where Public Sanitary Sewer is Available
- When current septic system fails or requires replacement and When Public Sanitary Sewer is Available
*If the septic system predates the municipal code and is functioning properly you are not required to connect at this time.
EastowN SubArea Exception
The exemption for Eastown Subarea that falls within the area served by Lift Station 23.
*The City will require you to enter into an agreement In order to install a new private waste water system or to do upgrades or repairs to existing systems.
The agreement will have the following provisions:
- Future owners must connect within 1 year when a main line comes within 250 feet of property line.
- system development charges and related charges, latecomer fees, and monthly sewer fees shall be due at the time public sewer service becomes available.*unpaid charges will become a lien on the property.
- sewer infrastructure, including dry lines located in a public sewer easement, must be installed at the time of temporary septic system construction.
- if future construction increases the sewer capacity then additional system development charges shall be paid.
- decommission the private wastewater disposal system at the time of sewer connection.
